Easter Sunday
Here we are, all dressed up at Church. I didn't happen to notice that the service was moved to 8:30, and boy was I surprised when we showed up at 8:30 thinking we were 30 minutes early. We couldn't even sit together! This happened to work out great, by the way. Cal helped the youth group hide eggs during the service, and the girls sat with our friends. It was very relaxing! I'm going to try to pawn the girls off on Katie and John every week now.

This is the life!
It's a day early, but AJ is practicing for her birthday in anxious anticipation. She's been talking about her birthday for at least a month, and she's been driving all of us crazy. Baba made a cake for her today, and she received a few gifts. The chair is from Baba and Pop, and the wig and dress are from Auntie Sue and Uncle Chris. As you can see, they were a big hit!

You write the caption
This picture makes me think of those features you see in the paper where you get this wacky photo, and you're asked to write the caption.
Why is our microwave oven out on the deck sunning itself, you ask? Monday evening, I attempted to make microwave french fries, and they pretty much caught on fire. I suddenly smelled something bad and turned to see smoke coming from the microwave. I immediately stopped it, but the damage was done. Those fries were blackened beyond recognition.
The worst part was the horrible smell. It filled the main floor and upstairs, too, and it would not go away. I looked online for advice in ridding your microwave of burned food smells. I tried cooking a bowl of vinegar and a mug of coffee grounds in water. Neither helped. Cleaning the microwave with nail polish remover was also recommended, but that did not seem like a wise choice to me.
By Wednesday morning, the smell was making me crazy! Even my hands smelled like those burned fries. I couldn't take it, so I banished the microwave to the deck for the entire day. Would you believe that it helped? After bringing the oven back inside, I cleaned it, as well as the cabinet that houses it, with a bleach spray and Febreze® and Lysol® and finally the smell is gone!

Guys Night Out
The food, friends and conversation were great. Unfortunately, the home team had no clue against the Duke zone defense and got hammered. It's been a long season.
Last year around this time, on a similar day, I was headed home from work to get ready to go to dinner and the Duke game with some friends when a deer ran into me on I-64. Tonight we had no problems, except for that little gauge that kept flashing "Zero Miles to Empty." The passengers were a little nervous, but the pilot was OK about it.
