Who's got spirit?

It's Spirit Week at the elementary school as we gear up for the Spring Festival on Friday night.  Each day has a different theme, and today is "Recycled Hat Day".  The kids were supposed to wear a hat that was made from recycled materials.  Bailey and AJ definitely got into the spirit of the event!

Birthday Boy

Cal's 12! I'm sorry to say that I missed posting an entry yesterday, but we did manage to take some pictures. Cal spent his birthday evening with his friends from the youth group. They had a lock-in at the church. We dropped him off, they ate some dinner, and then they walked to Putt-Putt for a few rounds of mini golf. Once back at church, they had a short church service, watched movies and stayed up late. This morning I took donuts to the 11 sleepy kids and their two brave adult chaperones. He had a great time!

Knoxville, here we come!

Today was the State Destination Imagination Competition (Bailey's DI team had qualified at the regional level in March).  Her team, the Legend Stompers, competed against 10 others in the "Hit or Myth" category, with the top two places moving on to the "Global" competition in Knoxville, TN.  The Legend Stompers placed first!  They were terrific, and they had a great time.
The backdrop shown is one of the three scenes they created - this one is Mt. Fuji.  Bailey is pictured in character as "Bob", the bumbling Legend Stomper who eats a lot of cheeseburgers.  This isn't a great picture of her fellow Legend Stomper, Jack, but check out his cool leather jacket.  It's really a shirt covered in black duct tape!

Babies at bible study

Every Wednesday morning, we get a little baby fix thanks to 4-month-old Ella accompanying Emily. I love this shot of the two of them! I got a lot of amusement watching Ella try to suck on her own foot (I know, I should be paying attention to Beth Moore). Today was even better, though, when special guest Olivia joined us. She's eight months old and one of the happiest babies you'll ever see.
